Gibson "The Smithy" Shiraz Cabernet

A tin-roofed, mud and straw-walled cottage sits at the centre of Gibson’s home property in Light Pass. It was the original home of the local Blacksmith and his family, thought to date to the 1850s. An artefact of the Barossa’s early European settlers, we know it simply as ‘The Smithy’.

This wine, like The Smithy cottage itself, is full of character and unassuming charm. The quintessential Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon comes together seamlessly. Lifted, brambly Cabernet fruit characters and lavender meet a ‘deep growl’ from complex plum skin and mocha from Shiraz and oak.
